Garden Warriors love Garden Art Days!

February has been HOT & DRY

No garden watering roster was required over the summer break but now our garden needs water every day!

This hot circle of marigolds pretty much symbolises our February sun!

When word gets around the lunchtime playground that there is an art session in the Garden...

...Garden Warriors swarm!

Stained glass flower windows had Garden Warriors abuzz this Wednesday...
...excited Garden Warriors swarmed all over our parched garden alighting on any brightly coloured flower they could...
Brightly coloured petals and flowers were artfully arranged onto waxed paper...
...boys were Buzie concentrating on design & beating the pesky breeze with innovative carefully placed stones...
...helpers were assisting with grating crayons for extra colour...
...and the Que to visit the Queen bee with her iron to melt & seal all the precious designs did not let up all session...
...artfully arranged petals and flowers were sealed together with a pinch of fairy dust and shavings of wax crayons...
...these Garden Masterpieces are going to glow with colour from dining room windows all around town!

That was a really fun and colourful Garden session Garden Warriors, we may have to do this again!

Focused on Flowers

Flowers are still very much the focus in our Garden this summer.

These last few weeks we have had a busy team of Garden Warriors collecting seeds for a "Wild Warrior" flower mix of Calendula, violas, viscaria, and Marigolds. It is hoped to sell $1 sachets of our special mix...
Our eager Garden Warriors have also been collecting another special "Essential Savoury Warrior Mix" of parsley, radish, rainbow beet, peas and coriander...also to be available at $1 per specially designed sachet...reserve your mix now!
Also busy munching our young swan plants down to the stem have been these stripy beauties...
...who our kindly Garden Warriors have relocated to the much more mature Swan plant at the office entrance. however, judging by the activity on this bush we may need to start finding yet another source!

Nice photos thank you Garden Warriors, well done!

Garden Fairies

At the end of last year the Garden Warriors from Room 7 planted up this planter box outside their classroom. They used Seedlings raised in our garden from Kings Seeds "Butterfly Mix".

When they started back at school last week Room 7 were greeted by this wonderful display!
The success of Room 7's butterfly mix was such that the other planter boxes outside our classrooms looked a little lack lustre...so it was that our Principal called in the "Garden Fairies" over the summer break to work some magic...
Cinneririas in shades of purple and blue mixed with silver foliage now grace the main entrance...
Geraniums flanked by Pansies and lobellia are set to add mass colour to the classrooms!
A HUGE thanks to Tui for the bags of potting mix that were used to rejuvenate each planter box, and the Novatech slow release fertiliser to give our colour a growth boost!

Garden Warriors will now make it an annual habit to grow "Butterfly Mix" ready for planting out at the end of the school year...ready to greet everyone starting back at school in the New Year in full rioting colour!
