A Fun afternoon of foraging

This afternoon after school a couple of our special Garden Warriors got busy.
First they dropped off a bucket at Westport Martins Mitre 10 for collecting Tui receipts.
They also picked up 2 complimentary bags of Tui's seed raising mix...thank you Tui!
We then had a very exciting trip to the Westport Transfer Station where much excited foraging was under taken!

 Our boot of Loot!

These old fridge shelves, BBQ racks and fire surrounds are going to be up cycled into seed raising shelves, and bean frames. The Mt buggy was a very exciting find and we have just the Engineering minded team of Warriors from Room 8, to redesign it into a market barrow...watch this space!
This black coal bucket was another welcome find, and just what we need to finish making our first "Compost Chimneybot"...
Yes! You heard it here first... From another Galaxy far away...Darth Vader has left "The Death Star" for a certain Westport garden...
We hope to make an entire republican army of "Compost Chimneybots" out of recycled culvert pipe to sell at our Monster Market in December...we look forward to seeing them all assembled!
For those of you wondering what you do with a "Compost Chimneybot"...they like to be buried up to their perforated knees in your vegetable garden, then feed copious amounts of hosuehold scraps through their flip top heads, they will in turn reward your garden with a wonderful organic cocktail!
